Develop A Standard Process for Packing

I like to travel.  I also hate packing and unpacking.  And I truly despise carrying more luggage than is necessary.  Given these three factors I worked carefully to devise a strategy that would enable me to travel when and where I want with a minimum of hassles when dealing with luggage.  I looked over the selection of travel supplies and luggage available at The Container Store.  While I saw several that attracted me, I decided to calculate just how much I would need before making my selection.

First, I listed the items without which I could not survive.  These included such basic items as a toilet kit, shoes, two changes of clothing, and underwear.  I also added some personal necessities like my desire for writing and reading material, and other personal needs.  When finished I figured I could stretch out that load to last 3-4 days, and that it could successfully serve as a casual load that in a pinch might be used for casual dress.  My next step was to see how much space they required when tightly packed and stored.  To my surprise, they fit nicely in a travel bag barely larger than a large briefcase.  And I could even fit a laptop computer in without a struggle.  So now I knew I could fit my needs for a weekend into one large case that could be carried by hand with no excess effort.  So now it was time to pick out the best item for using on short trips.

This took me back to looking at the Groupon for The Container Store.  I identified several cases that were both attractive and useful.  But I finally opted for a bag that was flexible to best use the space in my small closets.  I chose one that could be rolled on the floor, carried by hand, or slung over my shoulder.    And I liked the fact that it could be folded up to take a minimum of space when it was empty, yet it could be packed with a large number of items without taking up an excessive amount of space.  It can fit in an overhead compartment, but is sturdy enough to survive the rough treatment of baggage claim.   My new travel bag will be a great companion on my future trips.

Visiting Florida? You’re in For a Treat

Regardless of whether you are a fan of the sea or not, Florida is undoubtedly one of the best states that you can ever hope to visit in the USA. Floridians themselves are particularly interesting people, and some say that they are excessively laid back in comparison. This, of course, would depend on your own personal point of view but it’s definitely one of the things which make this particular state interesting and worthwhile.

What is more, quite a lot of people think that Florida is only good for its beaches. Sure, they encompass and make a huge part of the identity of the state, but there is a tremendous amount more to it than you could imagine.

History beyond Imagination

There are many towns and cities in Florida, the history of which is going to leave you astonished, to say the least. Let’s take a look at the city of Sebastian, for instance. Back in 1715, a fleet of 12 ships from Spain took off to the pristine coasts of Sebastian. Of course, the city was far from being founded at the time, and there was nothing but raw nature at its place. However, the ships didn’t manage to make it to the shores. As unfortunate as it may be, a heavy storm took them by surprise, crashing them entirely into the rocky shores.

An estimated $500 million worth of treasure was forever lost in the sea. And, if you think that this is a fairy-tale, you can easily take a look at the museums in the area – all of them contain small chunks of those treasures. This is why the coast is also referred to as the Treasure Coast.
